Our Story
A rolling kitchen
with deep roots
Plăcintă started with a single question: why does Romanian food — one of the most labor-intensive, deeply regional, fiercely seasonal cuisines in Europe — have almost no street presence outside of Romania?
So we built a truck. Hand-stretched dough, a wood-fired oven bolted to the chassis, and recipes that passed the grandmother test before they passed any other test. We've been feeding neighborhoods, block parties, and wedding tables ever since.

Every dish starts with the same question: does it taste like someone's grandmother made it? If the answer isn't yes, it doesn't leave the truck.
Sarmale
sar-MAH-lehCabbage rolls filled with spiced ground pork, rice, and dill — simmered low in tomato and bay leaf.
Served with sour cream + a wedge of mămăligă. The dish every Romanian wedding is judged by.
Mici
MEECHSkinless sausages of beef, lamb, and pork — grilled over charcoal until the outside crisps and the inside stays juicy.
Served with sharp mustard and a cold beer. The smell alone has pulled people off the sidewalk.
Covrigi
